Adoption figures decrease by nearly half

Recent figures have shown that the number of children being put forward for adoption has dramatically decreased by nearly half.  The figures were released by the Adoption Leadership Board, a body established by the Government as part of a system shake-up.  The number of placement orders granted by the courts were also down in number.
